Family History Research in England

Specialising in Surrey, London and Middlesex

A professional service from a genealogist with over 15 years’ practical experience whose work has included editing Estelle Catlett’s Track Down Your Ancestors.

Let me help you discover more about your ancestors
or break through the brickwall that is blocking your path to the past.

New to Family History?

I can help get you started. I can obtain General Register Office birth, marriage and death certificates for your relatives born anywhere in England and Wales since 1837. I can also search the UK census returns to find out where they were living and what they were doing from 1841 to 1911. If a member of your family served in the First World War or emigrated overseas, I can check the military records and ships’ passenger lists.

Need help with your Family History?

If you are already researching your family history and need to consult records in the London area:

I can visit and carry out research for you at all the main London repositories:

  • The National Archives
  • The Society of Genealogists
  • The London Metropolitan Archives
  • City of Westminster Archives
  • The Guildhall Library
  • The British Library
  • The Principal Probate Registry.

As I am based in Epsom, Surrey, the home of the famous Derby horse race, I also carry out research at the Surrey History Centre in Woking and all the local studies libraries and archives in Surrey and south London.

If your ancestors are proving elusive or you have reached an impasse in your research, let me see if I can help you.

Please email me, , with your research requirements. I will then send you a quotation of the cost and timescale for carrying out the work.

I accept payment by cheque (on a UK bank in pounds sterling), bank transfer or PayPal.
